Susanne James - Pottery and Glass Art About Susanne

Susanne James is an artist who resides in the Haliburton Highlands. In her work, she seeks to evoke the beauty of her natural surroundings -- the water, granite and leafy forests of this Canadian Shield region.

Susanne is also an avid knitter, and has developed a popular line of pottery accessories especially for knitters, which has been featured in Vogue Knitting magazine. Read more about that here.

Susanne's work is almost always made to be functional as well as beautiful to look at. She concentrates on simple forms, subtle and natural colours, and organic shapes.

For well over a decade Susanne has studied and worked with many artists, primarily at the Haliburton School of the Arts. Her work is featured in shops and galleries in the Haliburton area.

Susanne is a graduate of Ryerson Polytechnic institute in Toronto and a former technician and manager with Global TV and CBC-TV. She lives near Haliburton with her husband Andy and their dogs.
